Vehicle: 2014 Fiat 500L, L4-1.4L Turbo, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle
Mileage: 110,011
Problem: The owner of this 500L dropped the car off at the shop because the power windows and mirrors stopped working.
Case Details: Initial checks found broken wiring in the A-pillar pass-through to the driver's door. The wiring was repaired, but the issue persisted. The tech did some testing and found the window lockout switch output coming from the body control module (BCM) was only at 3.7V (it should be battery voltage). Looking at a wiring diagram in ALLDATA, he discovered that the mirrors used the same circuit. Testing for output voltage at the BCM, he found only 3.7V output. The technician verified all BCM power, grounds and connections were good. Everything was at specifications, so he ordered a new BCM from the dealer.
Confirmed Repair: The BCM was replaced, and the required programming/coding completed. The technician verified the windows and mirrors operated as designed. Problem Solved!
