Some 2018 Equinox owners have reported that their steering columns and seats are moving on their own. Fears of hackers taking over are premature, the actual cause are faulty or missing plugs in the A-frame, causing corrosion in the affected modules. GM has released a bulletin (#19-NA-243) addressing the repair procedure as well as a description of more popular symptoms: power door locks, windows or seats failing. Keyless entry systems have also shown vulnerability to water intrusion. Other 2018 models that may be affected are the Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT5/XT6, Chevy Blazer and Traverse, and GMC Acadia and Terrain.
