FAQs

No, none of the OEM information has been rewritten. ALLDATA has agreements with the majority of OEMs to publish mechanical and collision repair procedures as they are made available directly from the OEMs.

In addition to OEM information, ALLDATA offers non-OE interactive diagrams, top-ranked diagnostic solutions from ALLDATA Find-A-Fix (driven by data), and probable causes/verified fixes from our ALLDATA Community forum.

ALLDATA is primarily used by auto repair professionals (general repair shops, auto body, dealerships and other specialty repair shops) to ensure vehicles are repaired properly, back to OEM specifications. Today, more than 400,000 technicians trust ALLDATA’s industry leading repair information, diagnostic solutions, and shop management tools. ALLDATA is also used by educators to teach automotive repair and by insurance companies to refer to OEM requirements.

As vehicle technology gets more advanced, collision repairs might require some mechanical work. Autobody shops find it useful to use mechanical data like wiring diagrams, ADAS system information, fluids and capacities, etc. It could also reduce mechanical sublets that can be handled in-house.

ALLDATA publishes vehicle information daily from the OEMs, so subscribers always have access to the latest information. On our end, the publishing team processes the OEM data on a daily basis, uploading it to the ALLDATA platform. While it is not a real-time feed per se, it is the latest data available (other than a direct OE subscription).
